NAPLES, FL – The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced today details surrounding the second annual Basketball Hall of Fame Charity Golf Classic. This charitable event will take place at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples this April with proceeds benefitting 1 By 1 Leadership Foundation, Communities In Schools and the Leadership Foundations, collectively serving the youth of Southwest Florida.

“We are excited to be returning to Naples for the second annual Hall of Fame Charity Golf Classic,” said John L. Doleva, President and CEO of the Basketball Hall of Fame. “We had a tremendous response from the community last year and look to build on that to enrich the lives of youth in the surrounding area.” 

In the days leading up to the Basketball Hall of Fame Charity Golf Classic, the Basketball Hall of Fame will host youth clinics at Immokalee High School and Community School of Naples on April 16th and 17th. Children from these communities will have the opportunity to participate in basketball drills and engage with legends of the game.

The Basketball Hall of Fame Charity Golf Classic will be held April 18th and 19th at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples. Tipping-off the festivities on Monday evening is a Hall of Fame Legends Forum sponsored by Florida First Integrity Bank and a VIP Pairings Party dinner and auction.

The golf tournament itself will take place Tuesday, April 19th at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort’s Tiburón Golf Club and will conclude with an Awards Luncheon. Several Basketball Hall of Famers and sports legends are scheduled to participate including newly inducted Spencer Haywood from the Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2015. Other basketball greats scheduled to attend include Rick Barry, Van Chancellor, Alex English, Artis Gilmore, Richie Guerin, Sam Jones, Bernard King, Calvin Murphy, Gary Payton and Ralph Sampson.
