Support the Hall

The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. As an independent free-standing museum, the Basketball Hall of Fame relies on charitable support to fulfill its mission.

Founded in 1959 in Springfield, Massachusetts by members of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame recognizes the achievements of people at all levels in basketball.  What sets us apart from other Halls of Fame is that we are not limited to one segment of the game.  We celebrate players, coaches, college, professional, women and men from domestic and international audiences.

At the heart of our mission is the Museum: a 40,000-square-foot completely renovated state-of-the-art exhibit space that shares the amazing history of this game through artifacts and digital storytelling.  However, visitor admissions only raise a small percentage of revenue for what we need each year to further our mission.

The Hall is not operated, subsidized or funded by a league/agency. Your donation ensures that we can continue our efforts of preserving the history and celebrating the people of basketball while inspiring the next generation of fans and players.
