Chris Paul, Jalen Rose and Tubby Smith Named Winners of 2016 Mannie Jackson - Basketball’s Human Spirit Award

May 20, 2016 - The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced this evening on NBA TV that 12-year NBA veteran Chris Paul, ABC/ESPN basketball analyst Jalen Rose and University of Memphis head coach Tubby Smith have been named winners of the 2016 Mannie Jackson - Basketball’s Human Spirit Award. The winners will be recognized on Thursday, September 8th at the Reunion Dinner on the Hall of Fame’s Center Court during Enshrinement Weekend.

Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Announces 2016 Tip-Off Tournament Schedule

May 04, 2016 - The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced today the field of teams and brackets for the 2016 Tip-Off Tournament. The annual NCAA men’s exempt tournament sponsored by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference will take place Saturday, November 19 and Sunday, November 20 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. Eight schools will compete in two four-team brackets with campus round games leading up to the Mohegan Sun Arena contests.

STAPLES Center to Host First-Ever “Hoophall LA”

Apr 27, 2016 - The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced today the field of teams for the first-ever Hoophall LA, a premier college basketball showcase held in conjunction with STAPLES Center on December 3, 2016. The one-day doubleheader will feature the University of Arizona vs. Gonzaga University and Brigham Young University vs. the University of Southern California.

Basketball Hall of Fame on the Passing of Nera White, Class of 1992

Apr 14, 2016 - Nera D. White, enshrined as a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1992, has passed away at the age of 80. “Nera White was a true pioneer and trailblazer of the women’s game, ” said John L. Doleva, President and CEO of the Basketball Hall of Fame. “Her skill and athleticism was undoubtedly ahead of her time and she paved the way for the generations of tremendous female athletes that have followed in her footsteps.”
