HALL OF FAME SERIES RETURNS TO BALTIMORE ON NOVEMBER 3 AT CFG BANK ARENA

 - Headlined by Maryland and New Head Coach Buzz Williams, the Event Highlights Four Baltimore-Area Programs - 

PHOENIX – Position Sports, in partnership with the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, announced the field for the 2025 Hall of Fame Series Baltimore at the CFG Bank Arena on Monday, November 3. This marks the Hall of Fame’s return to Charm City following last year’s successful debut event.

The Baltimore doubleheader will feature compelling local matchups that celebrate the region’s rich basketball heritage. Headlining the night, Maryland will face Coppin State—located 30 and 3 miles from CFG Bank Arena, respectively—while Towson takes on Loyola Maryland, situated just 10 and 6 miles away. These regional matchups promise an electric atmosphere and a can’t-miss night of college basketball.

The Hall of Fame Series, owned and operated by Position Sports, is a premier collection of multi-game, singular events that feature top collegiate basketball programs in high-profile non-conference matchups played both domestically and abroad. Maryland holds a 2-1 edge in the all-time series, with all three matchups taking place at College Park. The Eagles earned a 70-53 victory in the first meeting on December 12, 1989, with current Coppin State head coach Larry Stewart starring as a forward on that Eagles team. The Terrapins then posted a 95-79 win on November 25, 2022, and a 75-53 victory in the last meeting on December 28, 2023.

Larry Stewart | Coppin State

The Greyhounds and Tigers are meeting for the first time since 2018. Towson has won the last four matchups, including an 85-69 win on November 25, 2018, but Loyola leads the all-time series 44-31. The Greyhounds' last win was on November 26, 2012 (65-53). The programs first met on December 12, 1934, with Loyola winning the first 20 matchups.
