U.S. Treasury and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Team-Up to Launch Commemorative Coin in 2020

Jan 21, 2019 - Springfield, Mass. — Located in the Birth City of Basketball, Springfield, Mass., the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame promotes and preserves the game of basketball at every level – professional, collegiate and high school, for both men and women on the global stage. Since the Basketball Hall of Fame opened its doors in 1959, it has operated as a 501 c 3 not for profit organization relying on the generosity of others to preserve the legacy of the game. Today, the famed museum announced a significant fundraising platform with the recently passed Naismith Memorial Commemorative Coin Bill.

Fourteen Nationally Ranked High School Teams Scheduled to Participate in the 18th Annual Spalding Hoophall Classic presented by Eastbay

Jan 07, 2019 - Springfield, Mass. — The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame confirmed today the schedule for the 2019 Spalding Hoophall Classic presented by Eastbay. The event is an annual basketball showcase now in its eighteenth year at Springfield College, the birthplace of basketball. Games will be played Jan. 17-21, 2019 at Blake Arena on the campus of Springfield College.

Dec 21, 2018 - SPRINGFIELD, MA – Today, December 21st, marks the Birthday of Basketball – the game that was invented by Dr. James Naismith in Springfield, Massachusetts and has grown into an international pastime. As part of the celebration of this momentous day, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame has announced the eligible candidates for the Class of 2019, including the addition of a new direct-elect category for Women Veterans.

Additional Teams and Matchup Adjustments Announced for 18th Annual Spalding Hoophall Classic presented by Eastbay

Nov 30, 2018 - Springfield, Mass. — The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced today matchup adjustments and the addition of Spire Institute (OH) and Our Savior New American (NY) to the field of teams for the 2019 Spalding Hoophall Classic presented by Eastbay. The event is an annual basketball showcase now in its eighteenth year at Springfield College. Games will be played at Blake Arena on the campus of Springfield College Jan. 17-21, 2019, during Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend.
