NAISMITH BASKETBALL HALL OF FAME ANNOUNCES BOARD OF GOVERNORS

Oct 09, 2024 - SPRINGFIELD, MASS. - The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced its newly elected Board of Governors, a group of leaders dedicated to preserving the legacy and promoting the future of basketball. Among the outstanding Governors elected at the Board’s September 2024 annual meeting is basketball legend Julius “Dr. J” Erving, who will serve as Vice Chairman of the Board.

LARRY O’BRIEN TROPHY COMES TO THE NAISMITH BASKETBALL HALL OF FAME OCTOBER 4-5

Oct 01, 2024 - SPRINGFIELD, MASS. - The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced that the official Larry O’Brien Trophy, celebrating the Boston Celtics’ 18th NBA Championship victory in June, will be on display at the Hall of Fame on Friday, October 4, and Saturday, October 5. Museum guests will have the opportunity to see the iconic trophy in person and take photos with it during their visit.

NAISMITH BASKETBALL HALL OF FAME TO HOST SPECIAL EVENT WITH EDWIN B. HENDERSON II

Sep 17, 2024 - SPRINGFIELD, MASS. - The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced a special event celebrating the legacy of Dr. Edwin B. Henderson, known as the "Father of Black Basketball," on Saturday, September 21 from 1:00-4:00 PM ET in the Hall of Fame Theater. Dr. Henderson's contributions to basketball and his role in breaking down racial barriers in sports, which led to his enshrinement in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2013, will be honored in a visit and book signing by his grandson, Edwin B. Henderson II.
