Basketball Hall of Fame Names Twenty Shooting Guards to Watch List for 2022 Jerry West Award

Oct 19, 2021 - Springfield, Mass. — The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced today the 20 watch list members for the 2022 Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year Award. Named after Class of 1980 Hall of Famer and 1959 NCAA Final Four Most Valuable Player Jerry West, the annual honor in its eighth year recognizes the top shooting guards in Division I men’s college basketball. A national committee of top college basketball personnel determined the watch list of 20 candidates.

Oct 18, 2021 - Springfield, Mass. — The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced today the 20 watch list candidates for the 2022 Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Award. Named after Class of 1971 Hall of Famer and former Boston Celtic and Holy Cross guard Bob Cousy, the annual honor now in its 19th year recognizes the top point guards in Division I men’s college basketball. A national committee of top college basketball personnel determined the watch list of 20 candidates.

BASKETBALL HALL OF FAME AND NIKE TO HOST THE CHOSEN-1’S INVITATIONAL AT STAPLES CENTER

Oct 15, 2021 - Los Angeles, CA. – The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced today a newly developed high school event in partnership with Nike and NBA superstar and 4-time Finals Champion LeBron James. The Chosen-1’s Invitational will take place December 4th at STAPLES Center with four Nike Elite high schools participating. The four-game showcase will feature both boys and girls programs from Christ the King High School (Queens, NY), Fairfax High School (Los Angeles, CA), Sierra Canyon School (Chatsworth, CA), and St. Vincent-St. Mary High School (Akron, OH). Sponsors of The Chosen-1’s Invitational include Keck Medicine of USC, Beyond Meat®, Takis Chips, and Nike.

Sep 23, 2021 - Phoenix, Ariz. - Today, 11-time NBA All-Star and current Phoenix Suns Point Guard Chris Paul, in partnership with the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and Boost Mobile, announced the inaugural Boost Mobile HBCU Challenge Hosted by Chris Paul. The first-of-its-kind event for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) will be played at the Footprint Center (Home of the Phoenix Suns) and air on ESPN Networks. The two-day doubleheader will feature the likes of Norfolk State University, Morgan State University, Hampton University and Grambling State University.

Basketball Hall of Fame to Host 9th Annual Hoophall West in Scottsdale

Sep 23, 2021 - Phoenix, Ariz. – The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the Arizona Basketball Coaches Association announced today the field of teams and game schedule for the 2021 Hoophall West, an annual basketball showcase now in its ninth year. The event serves as the west coast version of the original Springfield, Massachusetts-based Hoophall Classic – the Hall of Fame will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Hoophall Classic at Springfield College from January 13-17 in 2022. Hoophall West game action will take place at Chaparral High School in Scottsdale from Wednesday, December 8th to Saturday, December 11th. New to the 2021 Hoophall West is a highly anticipated four-game showcase that will take place at the new Footprint Center, home to the Phoenix Suns and Mercury, in Downtown Phoenix on December 11th, with the first game starting at 4:00 p.m.
