Basketball Hall of Fame & Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Announce Five Finalists for 2020 Lisa Leslie Award

Mar 13, 2020 - Springfield, Mass. — The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association announced today the five finalists for the 2020 Lisa Leslie Award. Named after the three-time All-American,1994 National Player of the Year and Class of 2015 Hall of Famer, the annual award in its third year recognizes the top centers in women’s NCAA Division I college basketball.

Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame to Reopen May 1st Following $20+ Million Renovation

Mar 13, 2020 - SPRINGFIELD, MASS. – As previously announced, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame is currently closed during the final phase of its $23+ million refurbishment of the museum which launched last year. The museum has been closed to the public since February 3rd and was expected to reopen March 25th. The grand re-opening has now been rescheduled for Friday, May 1st due to escalating concerns related to the spread of COVID-19.

Statement from Basketball Hall of Fame President & CEO John Doleva on Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Closure

Mar 12, 2020 - SPRINGFIELD, MASS. – “In an effort to minimize the spread of COVID-19, the Basketball Hall of Fame has decided to cancel the upcoming Western Mass. All-Star Games scheduled for Thursday, March 19. While this event is one of our most treasured in the Springfield community, the health and safety of the players, fans and staff is of the utmost importance. At this time, the museum remains closed for renovations and will remain closed until further notice. We will continue to monitor this situation closely and provide additional updates as needed."
