SPRINGFIELD, MA – The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced today that it will hold the Hall of Fame Shootout on Tuesday, December 22 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. The doubleheader will feature St. John's University vs. University of South Carolina and Marist College vs. Brown University.

“Mohegan Sun Arena has proven to be a tremendous venue for a number of Hall of Fame events,” said John L. Doleva, President and CEO of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. “We look forward to two great contests in the Hall of Fame Shootout and know the many fans who make the trip will undoubtedly enjoy their experience.”

The head coaches of the four programs set to compete echoed this enthusiasm:

Mike Maker, Marist College

"We are very excited about the opportunity to play at a wonderful venue in conjunction with the Basketball Hall of Fame prior to the holiday. The added bonus of it being a doubleheader featuring high-profile programs makes it particularly enticing."

Mike Martin, Brown University

"Our program is looking forward to participating in the prestigious Hall of Fame Shootout at the Mohegan Sun Arena. We will be challenging ourselves against a very well coached Marist team on a neutral court that is very accessible to many of our alums in the Northeast."

Frank Martin, University of South Carolina

“We are extremely excited about the opportunity to play a legendary program like St. John’s, who is being led by a Hall of Famer in Chris Mullin.  Gamecock history in the New York area is something that we continue to embrace and want to build on. The Northeast is an area where we recruit and a tremendous number of our alums reside. With the Mohegan Sun and the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame affording us the opportunity to play in this pocket of the country, coupled with an opponent like St. John’s, it is a win-win for South Carolina."

Chris Mullin, St. John’s University

“We look forward to competing in the 2015 Hall of Fame Shootout at Mohegan Sun Arena. It is an honor for our program to be affiliated with the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame as part of a first-class event. This will present a challenge for our team prior to the conference season.”

Tickets for the Hall of Fame Shootout go on sale Friday, September 11th at the Mohegan Sun Box Office or online via TicketMaster. Game times and television details will be released at later date.
