NAPLES,FL.- The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced today the details regarding the Hall of Fame Youth Clinics presented by Wendy’s that will be held at Immokalee and Community School of Naples on Monday, February 16th. The clinics are focused around creating awareness of the issues surrounding today’s youth, by inspiring and encouraging them through character education and positive messages beyond the basketball court.

“Wow…what an outstanding opportunity for the young people of Immokalee.  Not only will they get to meet great NBA basketball players but will be provided with a free basketball clinic,” said Ken Fairbanks, Immokalee High School Principal. This is a unique opportunity for us as we try to build our students character, basketball ability and become better servants to our community.  We truly appreciate ONE BY ONE and the Hall of Fame making this happen.” 

The two clinics will take place February 16th at two locations and at two different times. The Immokalee Clinic is from 10:00 am – noon at Immokalee High School and will feature Hall of Famer Ralph Sampson along with over 50 boys and girls between 6th and 8th grade. The clinic at Community School of Naples will be held from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm featuring Hall of Famer Calvin Murphy along with over 130 girls between 6th and 8th grade. from the Naples area.

The charity golf classic will take place on Tuesday, February 17th in Naples, FL at Tiburon Golf Club. The event will also include a VIP Pairings Party dinner and auction, a Hall of Famer Roundtable and an Awards Luncheon with over 20 Hall of Fame members and Sports Legends hosted by Hall of Fame member Alonzo Mourning. Proceeds from the golf event will benefit the 1 By 1 Leadership Foundation, Leadership Foundations and Communities In Schools together with the Hall of Fame and create the foundation for ongoing outreach events in schools and community centers throughout the region.
