Elite College Basketball Programs to Play at AmericanAirlines Arena November 27,

Additional community events to take place in the week leading up to double-header 

Miami, Florida – The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced today the title sponsor and a variety of events taking place in the Miami-area surrounding the first-ever ARS® / Rescue Rooter® Hoophall Miami Invitational, a premier college basketball showcase held in conjunction with AmericanAirlines Arena the day after Thanksgiving. The one-day double-header on Friday, November 27, 2015 will feature Kentucky vs. South Florida and Ohio State vs. Memphis.

To tip-off the festivities, the ARS® / Rescue Rooter® Hoophall Miami Invitational will feature local high school teams in a one-day quadruple-header at AmericanAirlines Arena on the evening of Tuesday, November 24th. The event will provide a unique experience for elite teams from South Florida and their fans, with a $13 ticket to the high school games also granting access to the college match-ups on Friday. High school game times and match-ups will be released at a later date.

On Wednesday, November 25th, AmericanAirlines Arena will host the Hall of Fame Legends Luncheon, bringing together business professionals from the Miami-area and benefitting the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and Alonzo Mourning’s Mourning Family Foundation. The luncheon will be a star-studded meet and greet event with the legends of the game including Hall of Famers like Mourning and Pat Riley. 

Also taking place on the 25th is the Hall of Fame Youth Clinic at Alonzo Mourning’s Overtown Youth Center. This 90-minute event will be hosted by Alonzo Mourning and college players participating in the ARS® / Rescue Rooter® Hoophall Miami Invitational. Attendees of the clinic will also be treated to the big games on Friday evening. Local businesses may show their support for the youth of Miami by donating game tickets to the main event. After celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday, Kentucky, South Florida, Ohio State and Memphis will take the floor at AmericanAirlines Arena on November 27th. A special tailgate and youth chalk talk open to ticket holders is scheduled for 3:00pm, including a DJ, contests, food, prizes and a basketball legend guest speaker. Game times are slated for 5:00pm and 7:30pm eastern and will be broadcast on ESPN and ESPN2 respectively.
