First Annual Basketball Hall Of Fame Fantasy Camp Set For November 2014

Registration now available for basketball fans to learn from the greatest names in basketball 

SPRINGFIELD, MASS. – The biggest names in basketball history will be on hand as coaches for a once-in-a-lifetime experience during the inaugural Basketball Hall of Fame Fantasy Camp taking place at the Mohegan Sun (Uncasville, CT) and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame (Springfield, Mass.) from November 21-24, 2014.

The coaches participating in the camp include 11-time NBA All-Star Elgin Baylor, 12-time NBA All-Star George Gervin, five-time NBA All-Star Chris Mullin, two-time National Coach of Year Lute Olsen and legendary former head coach of University of Connecticut men’s basketball Jim Calhoun will serve as the host for the camp.

Doleva, President and CEO of the Basketball Hall of Fame. “We certainly hope to make this a great experience for each camper both on and off the court. They will have a chance to stay at the beautiful Mohegan Sun and be coached by some of the best players ever to step on a basketball court.”

Participants will have two full days of intense on-court action at the Mohegan Sun followed by a chance to play the championship game on the Jerry Colangelo Court of Dreams inside the Basketball Hall of Fame during the final day. The fantasy camp will also be held in conjunction with the 2014 Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament, one of the nation’s premier college basketball events. This year’s field featured defending National Champion Louisville and powerhouse North Carolina among the eight teams. The fantasy campers will have the opportunity to attend four college games from the tournament with premium seating.

The coaches at the Fantasy Camp will consist of all Hall of Fame legends from the game of basketball.  Participants will all stay at the luxurious Mohegan Sun and will have the opportunity to attend social functions with the Basketball Hall of Famers and top corporate executives. Participants will also receive an exclusive product package with special Basketball Hall of Fame branded Nike apparel and footwear.  The weekend will also include a Hall of Famer guided tour the final day at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. 

Campers must be at least 35 years or older to participate. All rooms and meals will be provided complimentary as part of the event.

About Basketball Hall of Fame Tip Off

The Basketball Hall of Fame hosts the annual Tip-Off Tournament each November. The Tip-Off Tournament is an NCAA exempt men's basketball tournament sponsored by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). Each year, top teams and conferences will compete in the Basketball Hall of Fame's event showcasing its talents in New England's only exempt Division I college basketball tournament. The original Tip-Off was held in Springfield for more than 25 years. The format has changed, but the name has remained the same.
