‘Hoops & Heroes’ Receives Grant from Enterprise Holdings Foundation

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced today that it has received a grant from the Enterprise Holdings Foundation. The Foundation is the philanthropic extension of the company that operates the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Alamo Rent A Car and National Car Rental. The support from Enterprise will help with the funding of the ‘Hoops & Heroes’ tournament in August. 

The two-day tournament is set to benefit the Special Olympics Massachusetts and will be held August 24-25. The competition is made up of first responders from throughout the region.  The games begin at Springfield College on Saturday and the “final four” teams will progress to the Championship round to be played on the Jerry Colangelo Court of Dreams at the Hall of Fame Sunday morning. In addition to the two semifinals and championship game – activities also include an exhibition basketball game by Special Olympic Athletes. The winning team is awarded tickets to the Basketball Hall of Fame’s Enshrinement VIP Reception & Ceremony on September 8th, where they will be able to interact with the greatest collection of basketball legends who ever lived. Proceeds from the games and related activities benefit the Special Olympics of MassachusettsFans are encouraged to come out to support the event.

This year’s Enshrinement Ceremony will take place at Springfield’s Symphony Hall on Sunday, September 8th. For more information on Enshrinement Tickets, please call the Basketball Hall of Fame’s Ticket Office at (413) 231-5540.  Tickets are available for as low as $99. Each ticket price includes a tax-deductible donation to benefit the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
