Rick Barry, Dee Brown Headline Fan VIP Experience & Fantasy Camp During Enshrinement Weekend

NBA Development League/QuintEvents program delivers on-court action plus Hall of Fame induction access this week in Springfield

NEW YORK – September 5, 2012 – An unparalleled basketball experience  featuring  a chalk talk with former NBA superstar Rick Barry will be one of the highlights for participating fans during the 2012 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Enshrinement this weekend in Springfield.

Entering its second year, the NBA Development League Fantasy Camp and Hall of Fame Enshrinement, described by one journalist as “one of the greatest experiences of my life,” features three days and two nights of basketball events, including the fantasy camp and premium seating,as 11 luminaries are inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

The weekend begins with the Thursday evening Welcome Reception attended by an NBA legend and NBA D-League players and coaches. On-court action takes place on Friday morning with clinics featuring coaching, drills and game play followed by a sit-down luncheon.  Barry, a 1987 Hall of Fame inductee and the only man to win the a single season scoring title in college Division I, the ABA and the NBA, will talk basketball, answer questions and sign autographs during the lunch.

The culmination of the experience comes Friday night with attendance at the VIP Enshrinement Gala Reception followed by orchestra seating at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame for the emotionally-charged induction ceremonies and speeches.  Former NBA greats Reggie Miller and Ralph Sampson are among the 2012 inductees.

This year, the NBA D-League Fantasy Camp will be run by Dee Brown, current Detroit Pistons assistant coach and former Springfield Armor head coach.  Brown will be joined by Will Bynum, the Detroit Pistons point guard who had 20 assists in one game in 2010, and Mikki Moore, the Golden State Warriors frontcourt specialist who starred for both the New Jersey Nets and Sacramento Kings.

After participating in the inaugural NBA D-League Fantasy Camp and Hall of Fame Enshrinement Weekend one year ago, journalist/sportswriter Tim Jensen, who reported for The Sports Network (www.sportsnetwork.com) wrote:

“There I was, breaking bread with (David) Thompson, the former North Carolina State superstar; hanging at the pre-enshrinement cocktail reception with the legendary Dr. J: and offering my personal congratulations to the still red-eyed (Dennis) Rodman, who helped the Michael Jordan/Scottie Pippen posse win three of their six championship rings for the Chicago Bulls.”

The Hall of Fame Enshrinement travel/experience packages, among others, are detailed at www.nba-events.com and at www.quintevents.com. Information is also available at 877-979-2737.
