Premiere of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s “On The Shoulders of Giants” Postponed

The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar today announced the postponement of the world premiere of the documentary "On the Shoulders of Giants," previously scheduled at the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts for January 15, 2010. The event will be rescheduled on a future date to be announced.

"I treasure my affiliation with the Basketball Hall of Fame and have always strived to give my very best to the game of basketball," said Abdul-Jabbar, enshrined in the Hall of Fame as a player in 1995.  "I set the same standards for "On the Shoulders of Giants" as I did as a player, and that standard was to present my very best.  As we finalize the production of the documentary, we are experiencing some minor delays which will be resolved soon.  I look forward to traveling to the Hall of Fame for the premiere in the near future."

Abdul-Jabbar and the Hall of Fame apologize for any inconvenience to fans and will work together to reschedule the event.  Fans will be notified of the new date, and details will be posted online at Http://www.hoophall.com as soon as they are finalized.  Fans seeking additional information can contact Fran Judkins at fjudkins@hoophall.com or by calling (413) 231-5508.
