Basketball Hall of Fame, WBCA Announce Candidates for 2019 Katrina McClain Award

Oct 25, 2018 - Springfield, Mass. — The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association announced today the 20 watch list candidates for the 2019 Katrina McClain Award. Named after the two-time All-American and 1987 National Player of the Year, the annual award in its second year recognizes the top power forwards in women’s NCAA Division I college basketball.

Named after the three-time Naismith Player of the Year and Class of 1995 Hall of Famer, the annual award in its second year recognizes the top small forwards in women’s NCAA Division I college basketball.

Named after the first player, male or female, named to the All-America Team in four straight college seasons, the annual award in its second year recognizes the top shooting guard in women’s NCAA Division I college basketball.

Oct 22, 2018 - Springfield, Mass. — The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and Women’s Basketball Coaches Association announced today the 20 watch list candidates for the 2019 Nancy Lieberman Award. Now in its twentieth year, the award recognizes the top point guard in women’s NCAA Division I college basketball. To be considered to this prestigious award, candidates exhibit the floor leadership, play-making and ball-handling skills of Class of 1996 Hall of Famer Nancy Lieberman.

Twenty-One Candidates Announced for the Basketball Hall of Fame’s 2019 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award

Oct 19, 2018 - Springfield, Mass. — The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced today the 21 watch list members for the 2019 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year Award. Named after Class of 1995 Hall of Famer and three-time NCAA Champion Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the annual honor in its fifth year recognizes the top centers in men’s college basketball. A national committee comprising top college basketball personnel determined the watch list of 21 candidates.
