Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Announces Winners of 2019 Morgan Wootten Award

Feb 27, 2019 - Springfield, Mass. – The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced today the winners of the 2019 Morgan Wootten Award for Lifetime Achievement in Coaching High School Basketball. This prestigious award is named after Morgan Wootten, who served as the Head Coach of DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsvile, Maryland for 46 years and is one of four high school coaches enshrined into the Basketball Hall of Fame. The annual award recognizes two outstanding high school coaches, one for boys’ basketball and one for girls’ basketball.

Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Names Local Standouts for 2019 Western Massachusetts Senior All-Star Games

Feb 22, 2019 - Springfield, Mass. – The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced today the team rosters for the 2019 Western Massachusetts Senior High School All-Star Games. The 2019 All-Star event will be held on Friday, March 22 on the Jerry Colangelo Court of Dreams at the Hall of Fame. A total of 60 players were selected from different divisions within the region to participate in three games that will showcase the top seniors in their final high school contest.

Del Harris & Harry Glickman to Receive Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame’s 2019 John W. Bunn Lifetime Achievement Award

Feb 15, 2019 - CHARLOTTE, NC – Announced today by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame at NBA All-Star weekend, the winners of the 2019 John W. Bunn Lifetime Achievement Award are Del Harris, a respected coach who has served at every level of the game in his 50-year career, and Harry Glickman, the “father” of professional sports in Oregon. Both Harris and Glickman will be honored at Enshrinement Weekend in Springfield, Mass., the birthplace of basketball, during Enshrinement Weekend in September of 2019.
