Basketball Hall of Fame Announces Enshrinement Weekend Schedule for Highly Anticipated Class of 2020

Mar 11, 2021 - Springfield, Mass. – The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced today its newly established schedule of events surrounding the Enshrinement of the highly anticipated Class of 2020. Due to the global pandemic, the event was postponed from August 2020 to May 14-16, 2021. To allow for proper physical distancing and additional COVID-19 safety protocols, the Hall of Fame has elected to relocate Enshrinement for one year from Springfield, Mass. to an environmentally controlled venue at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn with all events being held in one single site.

Wayne Embry, George Raveling and Bill Russell Named Winners of 2020 Mannie Jackson - Basketball’s Human Spirit Award

Mar 10, 2021 - SRPINGFIELD, Mass. – The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced today the winners of the 2020 Mannie Jackson - Basketball’s Human Spirit Award. Honored for their decades-long commitment to social justice, the 2020 award recipients are Wayne Embry, George Raveling and Bill Russell. The winners will be formally recognized in May 2020 at the during Hall of Fame Enshrinement Weekend at Mohegan Sun.

Mar 05, 2021 - Springfield, Mass. — The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association announced today the five finalists for the 2021 Lisa Leslie Center of the Year Award. Named after the three-time All-American,1994 National Player of the Year and Class of 2015 Hall of Famer, the annual award in its fourth year recognizes the top centers in NCAA Division I women’s college basketball.

Named after the two-time All-American and 1987 National Player of the Year, the annual award in its fourth year recognizes the top power forwards in NCAA Division I women’s college basketball.
