Class of 2017 to Receive Iconic Naismith Orange Jackets During Enshrinement Event

SPRINGFIELD, MASS. – The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and Haggar Clothing Co. announced today an extension and expansion of their current partnership through 2019. Haggar will be recognized as the Official Provider of the Naismith Orange™ Basketball Hall of Fame Jacket for all Hall of Fame Enshrinees.

The Haggar® signature jacket is made with Naismith Orange wool inspired by the true hue of a basketball. It was unveiled in 2016 and was the product of a collaborative effort between Haggar designers, the Basketball Hall of Fame and its current membership.

“Haggar is a longtime leader in men’s fashion and a tremendous partner of ours since 2014,” said John L. Doleva, President and CEO of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. “We’re excited about the continued evolution of our partnership and outfitting our Hall of Fame members in such an iconic piece designed by Haggar specifically for the Basketball Hall of Fame.”

“Haggar is a proud sponsor of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and we are honored to craft the Naismith Orange Jacket for the greatest players in the history of basketball,” said Michael Stitt, CEO of Haggar Clothing Co. “The Basketball Hall of Fame has been a tremendous partner and we are excited to continue the relationship.”

The Class of 2017 and this year’s recipients of the coveted jacket will be announced on Saturday, April 1 at the NCAA Men’s Final Four in Phoenix. That same weekend, measurements will be taken as each jacket is custom fit and carefully made by Haggar in a process that takes up to three months for completion. Only 13 of the new jackets were produced for the Class of 2016 and for display at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and Haggar’s Corporate Headquarters.

During this partnership expansion, the Naismith Orange Basketball Hall of Fame jacket will become available to all living members who have been enshrined in Springfield, Mass., the birthplace of basketball. The new Haggar designed jacket will be awarded to current BHOF members participating in various Basketball Hall of Fame events including appearances at the museum for the 60 Days of Summer program with the goal of outfitting every member of the Basketball Hall of Fame by 2019.
