Walter "Walt" BellamyEnshrined 1993 One of the most coveted players of his era, Walt Bellamy was an exceptionally skilled offensive force and defensive stopper. "Bells," as he was fondly known, competed against some of the best big men in basketball history. Playing in 1,043 of 1,055 games (98 percent) during his fourteen-year pro career, Bellamy compiled huge statistical numbers. His .516 shooting percentage, largely based on dominating, yet agile moves in the paint, was third best in league annals. Bellamy was a member of the U.S. Olympic team that won the gold medal in Rome in 1960. When he retired in 1974, Bellamy was sixth all-time in scoring (20,941 points, 20.1 ppg) and third all-time in rebounding (14,241 rebounds, 13.1 rpg).
