Nera D. WhiteEnshrined 1992 One of the pioneers of women's basketball, Nera White was one of the most complete female players in history. Film clips replay her extraordinary talents, with her overall ability far exceeding other players of her era. Named an AAU All-America fifteen years in a row, in 1957-58, White led the U.S. to the World Basketball Championship in Rio de Janeiro, where she earned another MVP honor. From 1955 to1969, the athletically talented White led a team sponsored by the Nashville Business College (NBC) to ten Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) national championships. In the process, White was named the AAU tournament's Most Valuable Player ten times. A player whose skill and athleticism was before her time, White was one of the best woman players in the world.
