Carol A. Blazejowski
Known appropriately as "The Blaze," Carol Blazejowski ranks among college basketball all-time scorers. A pure shooter, Blazejowski holds the single season (38.6 ppg, 1,235 pts) and career (31.7 ppg) basketball scoring records and during a phenomenal career at Montclair (NJ) State Blazejowski tallied a total of 3,199 points alone. The first-ever recipient of the Wade Trophy as the 1978 Women's Basketball Player of the Year, Blazejowski was a three-time All-America selection and was named Converse Women's Player of the Year in 1977. In 1976, The Blaze set the Madison Square Garden single-game scoring mark with 52 points against Queens College in a nationally-televised game. Blazejowski was a member of the 1980 Olympic team and played in World University and Pan American Games.
