Arad A. McCutchan Enshrined 1981 Biography During 31 years at his alma mater, Arad McCutchan was a legendary coach at the University of Evansville. Exuberant and humorous, "Mac's" colorful style made certain both his players and the fans always knew what was on his mind. Under McCutchan, a disciplinarian who stressed fundamentals and team play, the Evansville basketball program became a model of small-college success. McCutchan's teams dominated their conference and owned the NCAA college division tournament. Coaching several All-America players, Mac roared his teams to three undefeated conference seasons and five national crowns. When he retired, McCutchan joined John Wooden as the only two coaches in collegiate basketball history to win at least five NCAA championships. Career Highlights
