Daniel "Danny" Biasone Enshrined 2000 Miglianico of Chieti, Italy February 22, 1909 - May 25, 1992 Biography In the 1954-55 season, NBA founding father Danny Biasone introduced the 24-second clock. The clock was based on the logic that teams averaged 60 shots a game. Given that the players would use the entire time to shoot, Biasone figured they would still average 60 shots per game, but play a faster and more exciting game. The year prior to the shot clock, NBA teams averaged 79.5 points a game. With the implementation of the shot clock, the team averages rose to 93.1 points a game and the number of field goals attempted climbed from 75.4 to 86.4. Biasone owned the Syracuse Nationals from1946-63 during which time the Nats had winning records in eleven of fourteen seasons and won the NBA championship in 1955.
